Rubber tappers’ insurance to be renewed before 4 July
Kottayam, 14 June 2016

Rubber tappers who have enrolled in the Group Life Insurance Cum Terminal Benefit Scheme should renew their policies before 4 July 2016 for getting continued coverage. The Board has already sent the intimations directly to the policy holders. Those who have not received the application form can consider this as an intimation.

Tappers can remit the premium at the nearest regional office of the Board. The minimum premium is Rs.300/- Those who do not remit the premium in time will lose their insurance coverage. The renewal of the policy is limited for tappers in the age group of 18 to 59 years.

The Rubber Board started this scheme in collaboration with Life Insurance Corporation of India. The members of this scheme are eligible for benefits like insurance cover (both for natural and accidental death), compensation for disabilities due to accidents and terminal benefits. Children of policy holders, studying in classes 9 to 12 and for ITI courses are eligible for scholarships to a maximum of Rs.1200 a year.
