Traditional area not excluded from rubber subsidy
Kottayam, 24 June 2015

Some reports in certain sections of the Press have recently appeared giving an impression that the traditional rubber growing area consisting of Kerala State and Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu have been excluded by the Rubber Board from the Scheme of financial assistance for rubber planting/replanting. It is hereby clarified that such reports are completely misplaced and that the Scheme for financial assistance for rubber planting/replanting continues to be available for all regions including traditional and non-traditional rubber growing areas.

Considering the resources available with the Board in the first quarter of the year, the Board has invited applications for assistance for rubber planting/replanting in the first phase from the Non-Traditional and Northeastern regions. It is clarified that applications for the traditional rubber growing areas are going to be shortly invited.
