Good governance possible only through eradication of corruption - Adv. Sivan Madathil

It is highly regrettable that corruption has now become an acceptable factor and good governance is possible only through the eradication of corruption, said eminent lawyer and human rights activist Adv. Sivan Madathil. He was delivering a speech in connection with the Vigilance Awareness Week being observed in the Rubber Board. All the Central Government Organizations were observing the vigilance awareness week from 28 October as per the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission. The theme for this year is ‘Promoting good governance – positive contribution of vigilance’.
Smt. Sheela Thomas, Chairman, Rubber Board who presided over the meeting said that people want good governance and not only the political leaders but the government employees also have to play a key role in assuring good governance.
Essay competitions were held for the students of high school, higher secondary school and colleges in and around Kottayam, at the Rubber Board Head Office, as a part of the vigilance awareness week. Essay competitions were also held for the staff of the Board at Head Office and offices at Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Agarthala, Guwahathy and Mangalapuram. Award for the winners of the competitions will be distributed by Sri. Rishi Raj Singh I.P.S, Transport Commissioner on 20 November 2013
