Rubber Board Observes Vigilance Awareness Week

The Rubber Board will observe Vigilance Awareness Week in all its offices from 28 October to 02 November 2013, as directed by the Central Vigilance Commission. This year the main focus of the week is ‘Promoting good governance – Positive contribution of vigilance’. The programme will start with a pledge by all officers and staff of the Board at 11 am on 28 October 2013. The oath will be administered at the Head Office by the Chairman, Rubber Board and by the Heads of offices / officers- in- charge in all other offices.

As a part of the programme, essay competitions will be conducted for students from the high schools, higher secondary schools and colleges in and around Kottayam and for the employees of the Rubber Board in the central zone on anti- corruption subjects, at the Rubber Board Head Office.

The subject for high school students will be ‘Your dream – for a corruption free nation ’ and that for higher secondary students will be ‘Importance of moral values and ethical practices in building up a corruption free nation’. The subject for college students will be given one hour prior to the competition. However it will be based on moral values, ethics, good governance, practices etc. The subject allotted for the Rubber Board employees is ‘Promoting good governance – Positive contribution of vigilance’.

The competition for college students will commence at 10.30 am and that for employees at 12.00 noon on 29 October 2013. The college students however should report one hour before ie. at 9.30 am. The time fixed for high school students is 2.00 pm and that for higher secondary students is 3.00 pm on the same day.

The essay should not exceed more than 500 words. The medium of writing will be English. Time limit for essay writing competition to high school/ higher secondary students will be 30 minutes. For college students time limit will be 45 minutes.

Maximum two students under each category from an institution can participate in the competition. The heads of the institutions should forward the names and addresses of the students who are willing to participate in the competition so as to reach the Vigilance Officer, Rubber Board, Kottayam –2 on or before 10 am, 28 October 2013. The students should bring their school/ college ID cards and the authorization letter from their Head of Institution / Principal/ Head Master to participate in the competition.

Essay competitions for Board employees are also arranged at the offices of the Board at Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Agarthala, Guwahati, and Mangalore. The winners of the competition will be awarded with prizes in a function to be held on 1 November 2013 at Rubber Board Head Office, Kottayam.
