23 Aug. 2013
The Rubber Board in partnership with stakeholder associations in rubber and related sectors is organising India Rubber Meet 2014 (IRM 2014) at Le Meridien Convention Centre, Kochi on 20 and 21 February 2014. This will be the launching edition of IRM, which will be held annually from 2014.
The theme of IRM 2014 is “Indian Rubber: New Horizons”. An assessment of the new horizons of Indian rubber industry involves examining strategies to confront emerging challenges and deliberating on capitalising budding opportunities. There will be invited talks by internationally renowned speakers on topics such as economic outlook, technology and innovation, regulations and legislations, sustainability and market/rubber industry outlook. There will also be panel discussions on the selected theme and other topics involving experts and key stakeholders from different segments of rubber industry.
Rubber sector stakeholder associations have been keen on having a regular forum for bringing together rubber industry interests on an annual basis. IRM is visualized as such an annual gathering of rubber industry stakeholders for facilitating networking and information sharing for furthering business relations for mutual benefit. A national level organising committee under the chairmanship of Smt. Sheela Thomas IAS, Chairman, Rubber Board with representation of all segments of rubber industry, is constituted to formulate and organise the event. The organising committee includes representatives of small and large rubber growers, rubber processors and traders, tyre and non-tyre sectors, auto component manufacturers, rubber product exporters, synthetic rubber and reclaimed rubber manufacturers, rubber research and skill development institutions, media dealing with rubber etc. IRM will bring the rubber fraternity of the country under a single umbrella to take stock of emerging trends in raw material processing, trading, end product manufacturing, export fronts and other topical developments.
IRM 2014 is targeted to attract around 600 delegates from India and abroad.
