‘Rubber’ magazine conducting literary competitions

The ‘Rubber’ magazine of the Rubber Board and Akshaya Pusthaka Nidhi are jointly conducting literary competitions for students and the general public. The competitions will be in the categories of stories, articles, poems and cartoons. The aim of the Board is to provide a platform for students and the public to share their experiences in the rubber sector.
The subject for article is ‘Rubber Nalkunna Padam (Lessons Offered by Rubber)’ and that for poems, stories and cartoons is ‘Rubber Anubhavam (Rubber Experience)’. The entries should be in Malayalam. There will be separate competitions for students of primary, high school and higher secondary sections, and for the general public.
Students from the government, aided and unaided sectors and CBSE and ICSE streams can participate. They should send the addresses and phone numbers of their school and their residence, and an affidavit from their school authority, along with their entries. Participants from the general public should send details such as their profession, address and phone number. There will be first, second and third prizes in each category. The prizes include cash awards and certificates. The cash award is Rs.3,000, Rs.2,000 and Rs.1,000 respectively for the first, the second and the third places. Selected articles will be published in ‘Rubber’.
The entries should reach the Editor, ‘Rubber’ magazine, Rubber Board, Kottayam -2 on or before 30 April 2013, in cover superscribed ‘Rachana Malsaram’ (Literary Competition). Details are available also on
