Quiz for School Students in Science Congress

Science quiz competitions will be conducted for the high school and higher secondary school students of Kottayam Educational District in connection with the 24th Kerala Science Congress. This will be held in the Mammen Mappillai Hall, Kottayam on 28 January 2012 along with the ‘Science Expo 2012’.
The competition will be conducted separately for high school (8th to 10th class) and higher secondary school students, both with a preliminary round and a final round. Six top ranking teams from the preliminary round will be selected for the final round. Those who come in the first three places will get a cash price of Rs 3001, Rs 2001 and 1001 respectively. Consolation prizes and audience prizes also will be given. A school can send one team each representing the high school section and higher secondary section. A team should have two members. The participants must bring a letter of identification from the Head of the institution. The registration forms to participate in the competition have already been sent to the schools. Registration will be free.
A mini planetarium show is also arranged for the school students of Kottayam Educational District in connection with the expo. Those schools who wish to participate in the quiz competition and to see the planetarium show should contact Dr. Siby Varghese, Dy. Booking for visit of the mini planetarium show will be on a first come first served basis.
