Tapping Panel Dryness

Why high yielding clones are more susceptible to TPD?
One major reason for TPD incidence is the excessive removal of the metabolite resources form the tree. When their formation and removal from a tree are not properly balanced, the tree may become susceptible to TPD. The high yielding clone often produces more latex and when the level of exploitation of these trees exceeds the physiological capacity of the tree to regenerate latex the tree may succumbs to TPD.
