The important markets of the oil are Kollam and Thrissur in Kerala, Madurai, Coimbatore and Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu, Mangalore and Bangalore in Karnataka. The market of cake is entirely confined to the southern districts of Tamil Nadu. Recently, there has been large-scale demand for shell by the small-scale units which are making handicraft items and using boilers. The main market of shell includes Palani, Udumelpet, Madurai and Virudhunagar.

Though there are different uses, the rubber seed oil is now entirely used only for the manufacturing of low quality laundry soap due to the unawareness of the consumers and competition of substitutes which are available either at comparable or lower prices.
